About the 4th US

The 4th US Regular Infantry is one of the founding units of the Washington Civil War Association. We meet at Historic Fort Steilacoom (1849-68), which housed companies of the 4th US c. 1853-1861.  We typically meet from noon-3pm on the first Sunday of each month (some exceptions apply--see  our schedule for specific meeting times, as well as reenactments and other special events).

As reenactors and living historians, we portray the officers and enlisted men of  Companies C and G of the 4th US infantry, and associated civilians.  Our current non-combatant portrayals include a field hospital and a branch of the Union Soldiers' Aid Society.  We participate in reenactments through the WCWA (and some NCWC events), and also share living history with the community through other avenues.

If you are interested in joining up, please contact our Recruiting Sergeant.  Civilian inquiries may also be addressed here.  Current members can join the "Historical 4th US Infantry Association" Facebook group.
